Iris Depassé is a Dutch photographer and artist, best known as the founder of the Academy for Abstract Photography, the only educational institute in the world fully dedicated to abstract photography. On October 23, 2024, she appeared as an expert and guest judge on Het Perfecte Plaatje. She has a unique vision on photography and offers courses that teach photographers how to transform reality into art through their camera. Her work is creative, connecting, and focused on pushing the boundaries of traditional photography. In addition, Iris has a strong connection with both art and nature and is known for her inspiring workshops and courses in the field of nature photography. In 2016, she was selected for the prestigious Masterclass BredaPhoto and later studied Photographic Design at the Fotovakschool. Her passion is to put abstract photography on the map, working with both her own art and that of her students in her book and various projects.
